Home Alone Music

AUTUMN 2015 (a compilation album)

Item/Product Number – HAM016 (DIGITAL/CASSETTE)

Release Date – May 22nd, 2015

Home Alone Music is very excited to announce the release of AUTUMN 2015, a new cassette/digital compilation. This album follows the small Wellington label’s previous seasonal sampler, SUMMER 2012 – a limited edition lathe cut release.

AUTUMN 2015 features unreleased songs from Home Alone bands French for Rabbits, Urbantramper and Eb & Sparrow.  The cassette and corresponding digital release will be the only way to get hold of these songs – none will be released on future albums.

The album also showcases radio hit ‘Good Keen Man’ by Lake South, an unreleased version of City Oh Sigh’s ‘Still Let Me In’, and a live performance of ‘When You Find That Love’ from Timothy Blackman’s last (but not final) performance in downtown Auckland. It is rounded out with new material from Home Alone friends Glass Vaults, Womb (Charlotte Forrester), Fraser Ross and Oscar Doorne.

Timothy Blackman

Timothy Blackman is a singer from Wellington, New Zealand.  However, since his solo project began in 2006 Blackman has also operated from Dunedin, Auckland, Berlin (Germany), Portland, Oregon (USA) and Melbourne (Australia).  His style has been described as introspective, minimal and often low-fi.

Blackman has released four albums (two EP’s and two LP’s) on the Home Alone Music label and his new EP (produced by Lake of Urbantramper) is due out September 2nd, 2013.

MODERN SPRAWL (EP)

“a major talent… that affirms his aesthetic debt to local home recording pioneer, Chris Knox.” – Grant Smithies, Sunday Star Times

EVERYONE NEEDS SOMETHINGTO HOLD ON TO (LP)

‘His style is a mix between old Devendra Banhart, but without quite so much of the weirdness, and the subtlety of The Microphones’, thefoxisblack.com

Home Alone Music Xmas Party 2013

Home Alone 2013FINAL

Home Alone Music warmly invites you to our third annual Christmas Party. As per tradition, we will be holding the concert in an intimate location (previous venues include Evil Genius, Aro Valley Hall and mid-winter at The Moorings) featuring the Home Alone family; the wonderful City Oh Sigh, haunting dream-folksters French for Rabbits, anti-folk hero Timothy Blackman and electro-utopian trio Urbantramper.

Tickets are strictly limited and can be bought from here: http://www.undertheradar.co.nz/ticket/3251/Home-Alone-Music-Xmas-Party-2013.utr

We have found a great location near central Wellington/Newtown, and will be providing some food and drink, but BYO booze. The party also doubles as the release of City Oh Sigh’s new music video and single from their debut album due out early next year.

It has been a great year for Home Alone Music, with a string of releases; Timothy Blackman’s much admired ‘This Country’ EP, Urbantramper’s brilliant ‘Tomorrow We Leave Here’, and French for Rabbits dreamy single ‘Goat’. This will be the first show back in New Zealand for French for Rabbits since their successful 45-date tour through Europe. Performances on the night will be recorded for a potential H.A.M compilation live release.

We’d love to share our celebrations with you.

New Timothy Blackman and Urbantramper Videos.

Hello everyone!

In a big week for Home Alone we have put out two amazing videos and an EP!

The new Timothy Blackman EP (titled ‘This Country’) is his first release since the much celebrated ‘Everyone Needs Something to hold On To’ LP in 2011.

The EP was engineered, mixed and produced by Lake from Urbantramper at the Home Alone Music HQ in downtown Wellington and was mastered by James Goldsmith.  The lil record features more musicians than any other Timothy Blackman release; including Lake McKenna of Urbantramper/Wellington Sea Shanty Society (bass, percussion), Chelsie Preston Crayford of Chelsie Florence/Only Child (keys/backing vocals), Sarah Smythe of City Oh Sigh/St Ruperstberg (keys), Kate Uhe of City Oh Sigh/St Rupertsberg (trumpet), Tim Couch of Knives At Noon/Kill The Fake Patient (drums), Ben Wood of Newtown Rocksteady (drums), Eli Chisholm of Hula Hope/St Ruperstberg (backing vocals) and Holly Beals of The Family Cactus (backing vocals).

A video for ‘How We’re Going’ was made by Al Cheyne of ‘Wolves’ fame.
