WHIM

WHIM is the solo project of Pōneke/Wellington, NZ based singer songwriter Deanne Krieg (Congress of Animals, Dawn Diver, Ida Lune). Produced from the comforts of her bedroom – track pants, snuggly blankets, and cups of coffee – WHIM is a sonic exploration of Deannes’ musical influences; alt folk, dream pop, jazz, and electronica.

Her upcoming EP, Mother Tongue is an autobiographical work which critiques the traditional and historical representation of the “woman” in popular music. Inspired by Miriam Shapiro’s domestic process of Femmage, WHIM adopts unconventional composition and production techniques to claim her space as a self produced bedroom artist.
